Jupiter Sept. 30
Hi all,
Another magic dropped here on September 30 when I imaged Jupiter at just 29 degrees altitude!!
Once again, I was located at 1200 meter altitude where the air bottom layers are causing much less degradation.
Very good seeing through the red filter, less consistent as always through G and B which are usually suffering with the Jup’s low altitude.
Notice the weird dark red “cat’s paw” feature on the NEB f limb, the spiral-shaped structure of the GRS whose internal arm looks as greenish and the weaker SEB.
Both the 2 images displayed here were processed at the same exact way and both do confirm any detail revealed.

congratulazioni per le immagini e per la descrizione del cielo dalla montagna grande.
Io vivo a Parigi (dove uso un mak intes m703) ma passo almeno 6 settimane ogni anno a Pantelleria.
Da un anno ho comprato un Dobson 12″ f/5 Lightbridge che lascio sull’isola.
Non l’ho ancora portato sulla Montagna Grande (!) ma l’ho usato dal giardino della nostra casa (nella contrada di Grazia) a 70m dal mare. La tua decrizione del cielo pantesco in quota mi ha convinto a salire sulla montagna con il Dobson alla prima occasione (tra due settimane!).
Dall’11 di luglio sono a Pantelleria per 4 settimane. Se hai in programma di ripetere l’esperienza pantesca e cerci un Dobson in loco fammelo sapere…
